II. GOYTISOLO: PELIGROS MORTALES DE LA ESTÉTICA

Sigo al pie de la letra de Juan Goytisolo en Santillana del Mar: ha relatado la historia que vivió al lado de un equipo de la Televisión Española en Moscú, en tiempos de la vieja Unión Soviética, cuando señaló a los camarógrafos y demás técnicos que le acompañaban en la filmación de un documental, que mientras ellos leían banalidades como La habichuela roja, el conductor ruso del vehículo que los transportaba leía una traducción de El gran Gatsby de Scott Fitzgerald. Respuesta de los miembros del equipo español: “Déles a escoger, a ver si no leerán también La habichuela roja. Una respuesta que se ha convertido en una profecía.

Citas memorables en cuanto a lecturas fáciles o difíciles: “La dificultad es la cortesía del autor al lector” (Jean Genet). “Lo que se entiende fácil se olvida” (André Guide). “Mi ambición literaria es tener el mayor número de relectores posible” (el propio Goytisolo, en cuanto a los libros que se leen una única vez, y luego nadie vuelve a acordarse de ellos, es como si nunca se hubiesen publicado).

Acerca de su libro Campos de Níjar, se habla de las relaciones y antítesis que hay entre fascinación estética por el paisaje, e indignación moral por las condiciones en que viven las gentes que habitan ese paisaje. Goytisolo recuerda que el alcalde del lugar ofreció colgarlo de los huevos, si volvía a aparecer por allí. Peligro mortales de la estética.

    To days I think that the life is not going to allow to me to read everything what had but also other days I think that does not matter. It happens that with time what desires to me more is to reread, to reread what in my youth almost I devoured and surely I could not assimilate of the way that I can assimilate at the moment. And rereading I feel that the read thing is like new for me. And I have the sensation of which not only he is new but far better. So I am in agreement with Goytisolo. I am one of his relectoras. And not only of him. I will lose the “new features” but I will enjoy the “recognition”, written thus with that guioncito that takes implicit the sense of “the double” word.

    The subject is very good, was of which it extends it just a little bit: -)

    When I read “for the first time” the stories of Julio Cortázar surprised to me to see that all the end was totally predictable. As to the fourth story me dí account that them had leido twenty years back.

    There are books that it enchants to me to reread, but are of easy reading, cheers, placentera, like those of Loved Jorge.

    I confess that I could not read the Ulises de James Joyce. But most surprising it was than my sister read it (and she understood very well) waiting for a flight in the airport.

    With some books it has passed me that to reread them years them later encounter a totally new and different approach, makes me meditate much more that when reading them years back.

  • El tema está muy bueno, era de que lo extienda un poquito :-)

    Cuando leí "por primera vez" los cuentos de Julio Cortázar me sorprendió ver que todos los finales eran totalmente predecibles. Como al cuarto cuento me dí cuenta que los había leido veinte años atrás.

    Hay libros que me encanta releer, pero son de lectura fácil, alegre, placentera, como los de Jorge Amado.

    Confieso que no pude leer el Ulises de James Joyce. Pero lo más sorprendente fue que mi hermana lo leyó (y entendió muy bien) esperando un vuelo en el aeropuerto.

    Con algunos libros me ha pasado que releerlos años después les encuentro un enfoque totalmente nuevo y diferente, me hacen meditar mucho más que al leerlos años atrás.

  • A días pienso que la vida no me va a permitir leer todo lo que debiera pero también otros días pienso que no importa. Sucede que con el tiempo lo que más me apetece es releer, releer lo que en mi juventud casi devoré y seguro no pude asimilar de la manera que puedo asimilar en estos momentos. Y releyendo siento que lo leído es como nuevo para mí. Y tengo la sensación de que no sólo es nuevo sino mucho mejor. Así que estoy de acuerdo con Goytisolo. Yo soy una de sus relectoras. Y no sólo de él. Me perderé las "novedades" pero gozaré del "re-conocimiento", escrito así con ese guioncito que lleva implícito el sentido de la palabra "doble".

Biografía

Sergio Ramírez nació en Nicaragua en 1942. Publicó su primer libro Cuentos, a los veinte años. Participó en la lucha para derrocar la dictadura Somoza y formó parte del gobierno revolucionario, del que llegó a ser vicepresidente en 1985. En su obra literaria figuran, entre más de una treintena de libros, Castigo divino (1988), Premio Internacional Dashiel Hammett de Novela; Un baile de máscaras (1995), Premio Laure Bataillon a la mejor novela extranjera en Francia en 1998; Margarita está linda la mar,  Premio Alfaguara de Novela 1998, y Premio Latinoamericano José María Arguedas en el 2000. Así también Cuentos completos (1998), con prólogo de Mario Benedetti; Adiós Muchachos, memoria de la revolución sandinista, (1999); el libro de cuentos Catalina y Catalina (2001); Mentiras Verdaderas (2001) y El viejo arte de mentir (2004), ambos sobre la creación literaria (2001); las novelas Sombras nada más (2002) y Mil y una muertes (2004); Señor de los Tristes, ensayos sobre escritores y escritura (2006), El reino animal, cuentos (2006), Tambor olvidado, ensayos (2007), El cielo llora por mí (2009) y La fugitiva (2011).
